Rochester Hills, Oakland County
One of the region's most complete suburbs: nationally ranked public schools, miles of trails, and a safe, settled feel that families rarely leave.
Rochester Hills was settled in 1817 and grew from farm country (Avon Township) into one of Oakland County's most desirable cities, incorporated in 1984. Today its roughly 76,000 residents enjoy a stable, family-first culture anchored by Rochester Community Schools, which serves most of the city, with parts served by the Avondale district.
The landmarks are genuine: Meadow Brook Hall, the Tudor mansion of the Dodge family, sits on the campus of Oakland University at the city's edge; the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm keeps the farm history; and Innovation Hills packs a giant slide, splash pad, and miles of riverfront trails. The city's own government highlights a designation as Michigan's Safest City for 2026-27, and it shows up in the way kids still ride bikes in cul-de-sacs.
The market is healthy and quick. Recent trackers show a median sale price around $485,000 and homes under contract in roughly three weeks, which means well-priced houses still move fast and the right offer matters. First-time buyers find value in the condos and townhomes along Adams and Avon; growing families step up to the four-bedrooms near Stoney Creek.
Raquel works Rochester Hills end to end, from first-time buyers in the attached product to sellers trading up to new construction on the township edges. She knows which streets back to which schools, and which listings are priced to sell this month.
