Keego Harbor, Oakland County

Michigan's 'Heart of the Lakes': a compact waterfront city on Cass Lake, Oakland County's largest lake, with a state park beach and a yacht club minutes from West Bloomfield.

Keego Harbor is one of Michigan's smallest cities, roughly half a square mile wrapped around the shore of Cass Lake, the largest lake in Oakland County at about 1,280 acres. Nicknamed the 'Heart of the Lakes', the city held about 2,760 residents at the 2020 census, and its whole identity runs to the water: docks, canal lots, and lakefront homes a walk from downtown.

The public access is genuinely good for a lake of this size. Dodge No. 4 State Park, created in 1922 from land given by the Dodge Brothers Corporation, holds a beach, a fishing pier, and a boat ramp on Cass Lake's north shore, and the West Bloomfield Trail links the area for runners and cyclists. The Keego Harbor Yacht Club, Fran Leaf Park, and Sunset Pocket Park round out the small-city amenities.

The market is a tale of two Keego Harbors. Local guides put non-waterfront homes around $195,000 to $205,000 and overall medians near $250,000 to $290,000, while waterfront and canal-access properties run from the mid-six figures well into the millions on Cass Lake frontage. That split makes it one of the few Oakland County addresses where a first-time buyer and a lakefront buyer can both find a real market.

Raquel works Keego Harbor with first-time buyers who want the lake town without the lake price, with downsizers trading the big family home for a waterfront bungalow, and with sellers who need an honest valuation of water, depth, and dock.
